Contract law
The office has long-term experience in preparation, evaluation, correction and coordination of both local and cross-border draft contracts. We have provided legal opinions on already concluded contracts and risks related to their performance. When working with draft contracts, various development scenarios are modelled and recommendations on risks and further steps are provided. We represent clients in contract negotiations, coordinate positions with contractual partners, as well as help the client to be aware of all risks when concluding contracts
Construction issues
The office has ensured legal provision for the largest construction objects in the history of independent Latvia – the construction of the National Library, the construction of the 2nd railway line Tinuzi-Krustpils, Krievu Island, the construction of Southern Bridges, etc. Therefore, we have practical experience in implementation of such projects, ensuring balanced cooperation of all involved parties, timely and high-quality construction of objects, avoiding unnecessary legal proceedings.
Commercial law
We provide a full range of legal services for ensuring entrepreneurship. We provide legal assistance regarding the establishment and registration of various merchants and other legal entities, convening and holding shareholder meetings, payments of dividends and resolving shareholder disputes. We have implemented complex reorganisations of companies, as well as been the first in Latvia to transfer the company’s registered office from one European Union member state to another.
Business acquisition and merger transactions
The office has considerable experience in providing legal assistance in business acquisition and merger transactions, representing both the buyer and the seller. We have conducted legal research of companies, revealing the risks related to the purchase of the company and helping the client to purchase the company on more favourable terms. We provide preparation, evaluation and correction of all necessary documentation related to these transactions.
Public procurements
The office has been active in the field of public procurements for many years – representing both applicants participating in announced procurements, assisting in drawing up tenders, adjusting draft contracts, contesting the decisions, as well as consulting entrepreneurs and subjects of public law in connection with the organisation of procurements, setting requirements for candidates or applicants, amending the contracts, as well as other issues. We help preparing complaints to the Procurement Monitoring Office, as well as represent clients in examination of complaints in the institution and in court. By appealing decisions unfavourable to the clients, we have achieved positive decisions, including case law changes in respect of interpretation and application of regulatory enactments in the field of procurements.
Competition law
The office works on issues regulated by the Competition Law. We help develop internal rules for ensuring compliance with competition law in order to preventively avoid violations of competition law. We represent interests of clients both in the Competition Council and in court. We help prepare reports related to mergers of market participants and consult other clients on issues of interest.
Real estate
We provide legal support to clients in issues related to real estate. We consult on issues related to purchase, sale, rental, renting of real estate, establishment, amendment or cancellation of easements, division or merger of real estates, legal aspects of joint ownership, management, lease and rent issues.
Tax law
The office provides consultations on various tax law issues. When preparing transactions and draft contracts, we recommend the most optimal solutions in tax planning issues to our clients. We help in connection with the necessary registrations and submission of documents to the State Revenue Service. We represent clients in disputes with the State Revenue Service both in the institution and in court. The office has experience in relation to requesting a prejudicial resolution from the Court of Justice of the European Union in relation to the interpretation of regulatory enactments, representing the client in this court in Luxembourg, as a result of which a court decision favourable to the client was obtained.
Labour law
We provide consultations and help prepare employment contracts, agreements on compliance with competition rules, as well as various internal legal enactments of employers. We provide legal assistance in resolving various labour disputes, as well as in issues related to termination of legal employment relationship and restoration on work. We have successfully represented clients in court, achieving the desired result, as well as contributed to the development of case law in this field of law with the argumentation we use.
Immigration law
We regularly provide consultations on issues of immigration law, helping with various types of visas, temporary and permanent residence permits. We have helped prepare documents for obtaining refugee status and have successfully appealed aa decision to extradite a person to a foreign country. We resolve complex issues related to immigration law, as well as appeal the decisions of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs in the institution and in court. The office has experience in filing complaints and representing clients at the European Court of Human Rights regarding an unfavourable court decision, which resulted in a favourable ECHR judgment and payment of compensation to the client.

We provide high-quality legal assistance in matters of family law related to dissolution of marriage, division of joint property of spouses, claim of contribution to the separate property of the other spouse, issues of custody and contact rights. We represent clients in the orphan’s and custody court and in court, as well as help prepare applications and complaints to other law enforcement authorities. We work with international cases dealing with issues of jurisdiction, issues of abduction and return of children to the home country.
We provide consultations on issues of inheritance law and have gained considerable experience in relation to the cases in which heirs and/or the mass of the succession are located in several countries, therefore the inheritance must be settled in courts of several countries in accordance with the laws of these countries.

We prepare applications for disputing and appealing the adopted administrative enactments, as well as the institution’s actual actions.
